Supplies needed to live Abroad

Supplies needed for South Korea

As I was preparing to move to Seoul I found out that there are certain things I would need.

My school told me that I should bring my own deodorant(cheaper), sheets for the bed(softer), bath towels(bigger than a hand-towel), and my own toothpaste because Korean toothpaste does not have fluoride in it.

My mother said to me to come up with a list of things I would need during my year in South Korea.
Here is my list:

This is the deodorant I use and I think it will come in handy to have it as I travel abroad. I would guess that I need 6-8 deodorants.

I was just at the dentist after not being at the dentist for over 12 years.  They were very surprised at how great of shape my teeth were in.  I am going back next week to have some sealants put on my teeth to prevent cavities, I also had some soft spots in the enamel of 5 teeth, that had to be scraped out and filled. I will definitely need toothpaste throughout the year, I imagine 4 or 5 tubes.

I have heard that the city of Seoul can be rough on a person's skin and having some anti acne solutions is key         to looking good.

Some familiar body wash would be good to have.

I would also need whitening wash for my teeth, I would only need one container for the year.

These are the replacement heads for my electric toothbrush.  I thought about getting a rechargeable toothbrush, but the voltage is different in South Korea as opposed to the United States. In the United States the voltage is at 110-120, whereas the voltage in South Korea is at 240.  Some appliances can adapt from 110-240 like my laptop, but most can not. When an appliance is adaptable on voltage all you need is an adapter to plug it in the wall.

Anyway I have three heads available for my toothbrush, so I would only need one for the coming year and this is not the biggest priority.

Finally, I should bring certain first aid things with me for my time in South Korea. For example, band-aids, antibiotic cream and other first aid things would be good to bring.

Other things I could bring for first-aid:
  • Generic Claritin D for Allergies
  • Pepto Bismol
  • Tums
  • Ibuprofen
  • Cold medicine
  • Cough medicine
  • *Whatever else.

Thank you for reading my list of things I might need on my trip abroad.

Getting Ready

This is a skyline of Seoul, South Korea.  I am preparing to move there in August 2013 to teach English.  I am preparing and getting ready to move.
