We brought the kids to the playground for gym class, here are a few pictures of them playing. The playground is very close.
Here is one of my afternoon classes and they are playing with my bald eagle Baldy. They told me that Baldy is a girl and had him looking in a mirror and combing his feathers. I actually brought Baldy with me. At Tenth and Green Elementary School I had Baldy hanging where the American flag was.
Notice how Scott had to run and get in the picture at the last moment.
We went on field day today. The kids all got into buses and and we made a U-turn across the street and we were at Olympic Park. Yes the park is literally across the street, but it was easier to drive across the street instead of bring all the students across an eight lane road.
Here the kids are on the elevator. Melissa teacher is on the left and Phoebe teacher is doing her best Korean pose.
on the bus.
We then walked and the kids took their shoes off and sat on some mats.
Here are all the happy and fun kids.
Here they are playing a game where they have to flip over the boards from one color to another color.
We were supposed to have field day on Tuesday, but it was postponed until today because of rain. I think having field day on a Friday is much better.
The ball (pumpkin) was supposed to stay on the ground, the kids got carried away and it made it so much more fun!
I actually did not have to go because teachers were taking their co-classes and I do not have a co-class. I actually could have stayed in the office and had my prep time. I volunteered to go to the park instead.
Here is a fun hat game.
Hey girls welcome to standing in line for the bathroom.
Here are the kids throwing balls into the baskets.
Lunch time!
Notice that their cute chopsticks are attached at the top. Jason has a Thomas the engine chopstick, ha.
It's Bubble Time!
On Thursday the kids were practicing their recital. Each month they have to memorize something and then present it alone at the end of the month. This month's recital is "Five Little Pumpkins" I will have to do some video of the kids performing their recital. I taught them the motions and I have only a few go up a time and do the recital. They are getting pretty good at it. In Korea it is important to do presentations in class, but I am also learning that memorization and repetition are very beneficial for language learners.
Five little pumpkins sitting on a gate, First one said "Oh my, it's getting late!" Second one said "There are witches in the air," Third one said "but we don't care!" Fourth one said "Let's run and run and run." Fifth one said "Isn't Halloween fun!" Ooo ooo went the wind, and out went the lights, And five little pumpkins rolled out of sight.
